Here’s my second pic. As I said below, the face, for me, is the most important part of the painting so that’s where I’ve started. I’ve just thrown base colours down at the moment (I’m using acrylic’s). I always find it a bit of a nervy thing starting a new picture because you just never know where it’s gonna end up (but that’s part of the excitement as well!).

I’d love to know how Waterhouse went about his paintings. I’ve just bought this great book by Peter Trippi about John Waterhouse with quite a few paintings in there I’ve not seen before. Hopefully, it gives some idea as to the process he went through to create one of his works. Peter Trippi, incidentally, is one of the curators for the upcoming Waterhouse exhibition. Should be good.

Until next time,

Jimbob
